A total of eight consortia participated in the 1,000 megawatts (MW) wind power project tender organized by the Turkish Ministry of Energy on 27 July. The winning consortium is expected to make more than one billion dollars investment in the project, which stipulates the local production of wind turbines gradually.
The bidding consortia are: the consortium of Danish Vestas and Turkish Enerjisa, German Siemens and Turkish Turkerler and Kalyon consortium, German Enercon and Turkish Polat and Limak consortium, German Nordex and Turkish Iklim Electric Investment, MKS Marmara and Zorlu consortium, German Senvion and Turkish IC Energy consortium, Chinese Goldwind and Turkish Akfen and Beycelik consortium, the US General Electric and Turkish Fina Energy consortium, and Chinese MingYang and Turkish ILK Construction consortium.
