Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for Serbia Daniel Berg and climate finance associate Ana Bachurova said that the Bank has invested about 800 million euros in environmentally-friendly projects in Serbia in the 2006-2016 period.
They stressed that in 2016 alone, investments in green projects accounted for 39 % of EBRD’s total business volume in Serbia. EBRD has provided 65 million euros loan to four commercial banks in Serbia for on-lending to small and medium-sized enterprises and households for renewable energy and energy efficiency since 2009. Currently, the Bank is working with the European Union to set up a new credit line facility for energy efficiency in the residential sector.
