The Serbian Biogas Association believes that the amendments to the Energy Law proposed by the Energy Community, as well as decrees on incentives for producers of electricity from renewable sources, would not be a good move foe Serbia and the development of renewable energy in general.
Last week, the EC invited Serbian Ministry of Energy and Mining to make amendments to the Energy Law, in which it will abolish the status of a privileged electricity producer, the public bidding procedure for all producers from renewable energy sources and balance responsibility. The press release from the Biogas Association said that the abolition of the status of a temporary privileged producer would make the process of receiving support from banks much more difficult, while making some projects entirely unfeasible.
