The World Bank (WB) said in the statement that it has already allocated 667.27 million dollars or 83.4 % of the loan intended for the Trans-Anatolian (TANAP) gas pipeline project.
WB said that TANAP project will not only boost competitiveness and create new economic opportunities for Azerbaijani and Turkish people, but will also support regional trade and energy security of Turkey and Europe. It is one of the top priority infrastructure projects for Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey and the countries in southeastern Europe and the assistance in the implementation of such ambitious projects as TANAP reflects the WB commitment to support the countries’ development priorities.
