Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said that Ukraine plans to stop natural gas imports by 2020 and move to domestic energy sources, which would significantly reduce energy-related costs.
According to PM Groysman, Ukraine has enough domestic gas reserves to cover its own demand. In November 2015, Ukraine stopped importing natural gas from Russia, which was the country’s key gas suppler at the time, and turned to Europe, importing 10.3 billion cubic meters of gas from Slovakia and, to a lesser extent, from Hungary and Poland.
