CEO of Russian gas company Gazprom Alexey Miller said that natural gas supplied via the second line of TurkStream pipeline could reach Bulgaria, Hungary and Serbia in early 2020.
Miller explained that once the TurkStream gas pipeline is completed and start operating in full capacity, Russian natural gas via TurkStream will be able to reach national gas systems of Bulgaria, Hungary and Serbia, adding that all three countries have expressed willingness to further develop their gas transmission networks. He also said that in the first half of 2018, Gazprom supplied 101 billion cubic meters of gas to Europe, 6 % more than in the first half of 2017. If Europe’s gas demand continues at the current rate, 2018 will end with the record volume of Russian natural gas supplied to European countries.
