Turkish company Guris Holding, one of Turkey’s leading renewable energy producers, is establishing the first wind farm in Kosovo, in line with the country’s efforts to reach EU renewable energy standards.
Kosovo aims to meet a quarter of its energy need from renewable sources by 2020 to comply with EU standards. The first wind farm of the country, consisting of 9 110-meters high General Electric wind turbines, will start operating in September. This wind farm is expected to meet 3 % of the country’s energy needs.
