Slovenian energy company HSE said that unit 6 of its coal-fired thermal power plant Sostanj was successfully reconnected to electricity grid at 05:45 on 19 March, following a shutdown on 15 March, as part of the preparation for the annual overhaul which is planned for May and should last for two months.
The share of TPP Sostanj in Slovenia’s total electricity production in 2017 was 36 %, while it was accounted for 54 % of electricity production of HSE Group. The availability of unit 6 in 2017 was 83.6 %. Units 4 and 6 operated for 4,500 and 7,400 hours in 2017, respectively, producing a total of 3,967 GWh of electricity, majority of which was produced by unit 6 (3,132 GWh), which is 8 % or 357 GWh more than planned for 2017.
