Renewable energy is expected to make a significant contribution to employment in the upcoming years in Turkey, which is focusing on domestic resources in the energy sector.
At the moment, the total installed capacity in solar power plants in Turkey stands at 850 MW. As Turkey aims to increase the capacity in the coming years to 5,000 MW based on solar power by 2023, it was emphasized that around 180,000 people will be required for the target to be reached. Evaluating the situation of solar power in Turkey, Professor Ibrahim Dincer of Turkish Academy of Sciences said that the country has made major investments in solar power during recent years.
