Households in Serbia have the lowest price of electricity in Europe. Electricity is cheaper not only compared to more developed countries in the EU, but it is also the cheapest among the countries in the region.
Serbian citizens have five times cheaper electricity than in Denmark or Germany, and four times cheaper compared to Belgium. However, due to low price of electricity, consumption in Serbia per household is much higher than in the EU. About 2.5 million households in Serbia consume 5 times more electricity than the European average.
