The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said that Bulgarian State Enterprise Radioactive Waste (SERAW), which is responsible for the decommissioning of the units 1 to 4 at the country’s sole nuclear power plant Kozloduy, is planning to launch nine tenders related to the decommissioning project.
The tenders will include the construction of an information center for the decommissioning, the upgrade of radioactive waste processing plant and storage, treatment of contaminated soil, sampling analysis, as well as retrieval and treatment of historical radioactive waste. The tenders will be financed through the Kozloduy International Decommissioning Support Fund (KIDSF).
