Romanian natural gas producer Romgaz, majority owned by the state, recorded a net profit in the amount of 189.8 million euros in the first half of 2017, which is 41 % higher compared to the same period last year, mostly due to increased natural gas and electricity sales.
According to the statement from the company, its revenues in the first six months of the year rose by 21.8 % to 522.5 million euros, while its expenditures also rose by 11.9 %. On the back of the increase of natural gas consumption at national level, Romgaz was able to grow its deliveries by 31.29 % compared the same period of last year, from 24.34 TWh to 32.03 TWh. As a result, the market share of Romgaz on the gas delivery segment reached 42.76 %, which is 3.13 % higher than the level recorded in the previous period.
