Romanian state-owned natural gas producer Romgaz will receive 69.2 million euros from the state in order to finance the construction of its gas-fired thermal power plant Iernut.
The company has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Energy for this non-reimbursable financing, which will be granted through the National Investment Plan (NIP). In June, Romgaz confirmed that General Electric (GE) has won an equipment supply contract for the project for the construction of the new 430 MW Iernut power plan, on a tender published by the contractors – a consortium of Spanish Duro Felguera and Romanian Romelectro.
