Serbian state-owned power utility EPS announced that generator A1 at hydropower plant Djerdap 1 has been successfully revitalized and put back into operation with increased capacity by 10 %.
Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic said that this is a part of the Djerdap 1 revitalization project, according to which all six generators will be revitalized for the first time in several decades of their work. So far, EPS completed the revitalization of four generators – A1, A2, A3 and A6, thus increasing the plant’s power output by 60 MW, which means around 90 million kWh of additional electricity per year.
