Qatari Minister of Energy and Industry Mohammed al-Sada said that Qatar has been shipping liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Turkey for many years and it ready to increase the shipments if needed.
Minister al-Sada said that within the framework of the two existing gas supply agreements which are still in force, Qatar is ready to ship LNG to Turkey whenever the Turkish side wants it with no restrictions on quantities. Regarding Turkey’s increasing of natural gas storage and purchasing capacity, al-Sada stressed that this is an excellent policy for Turkey to diversify its energy supply resources, while the steps taken towards that goal will also give the country flexibility regarding the access to resources.
