Romanian electricity producer Nuclearelectrica, the company that operate the country’s sole nuclear power plant Cernavoda, has signed two contracts with the National Meteorological Administration (NAM) and Pitesti Nuclear Research Institute, worth about 200,000 euros.
The contract signed with NAM is for forecasting and meteorological warning services for the NPP Cernavoda area and for the surveillance of stationary air sampling stations. The second contract, concluded with the Pitesti Nuclear Research Institute, is for the measurement of the radioactive waste (C-14 and Sr90) content of the liquid effluents from NPP Cernavoda.
