State Secretary at the Romanian Ministry of Energy Doru Visan said that the country will set a new renewable energy target of around 35 % for 2030, but the new RES capacities should not be subsidized.
According to Visan, renewable energy generation technologies, especially those in the wind sector, have evolved enough to withstand in the market without subsidies. He said that renewable energy must be defined as a necessity for which mankind has opted, but it also must be seen as an expensive energy.
