CEO of Greek Mytilineos Group Evangelos Mytilineos said that the group is prepared to offer 110 million euros for the upgrade of the ageing lignite-fired thermal power plant Amytheo owned by Public Power Corporation (PPC) in exchange for long-term electricity supply agreement.
In this offer, Mytilineos stressed the importance of PPC in supporting the Greek industrial sector in the past, adding that now is the time for industry to support PPC. It proposes concluding a long-term deal with PPC, so about 90 % of the plant’s output will be supplied to the group’s energy-intensive industry until 2030, thus securing competitively priced electricity.
