MET International AG, a subsidiary of Hungarian MET Group, has made its first liquefied natural gas (LNG) transaction. According to the Group’s statement, MET International AG took a delivery of gas from a tanker in Italy.
In March, MET Group announced that MET International will be adding LNG to its trading portfolio, as the company believes in great potential for the global expansion of LNG sector. MET International is Swiss-based subsidiary of MET Group, and it will focus on fulfilling medium-term gas imports needs, but at the same time group wants to be active in short-term and futures markets as well. The group’s officials said that LNG imports are starting to affect local markets at increasing rate, which is important for the company’s entire European gas trading business.
