Croatian company Koncar will soon take over the position of the consortium leader in the project for the construction of hydropower plant Vranduk on the river Bosna, after Austrian Strabag withdrew from the project. Koncar will have to select one of the local companies as the main contractor, since it is only specialized in turbine procurement.
In January 2016, Bosnian power utility EPBiH has signed a contract worth 57.4 million euros with the joint venture of Austrian Strabag and Croatian Koncar. The other consortium that participated in this tender was Riko – Euro Asfalt with the price of 60 million euros, where Riko would perform construction works since Euro Asfalt did not have the necessary references.
