Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said after the meeting with Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic that the country expects to cover about half of its natural gas consumption with imports from Romania as of 2021 or 2022, thus ending Russia’s monopoly on natural gas supply in Hungary.
PM Orban said that Hungary will soon sign an agreement with Romania on the supply of 4 billion cubic meters of gas through the so-called Bulgaria-Romania-Hungary-Austria (BRHA) gas pipeline over the next 15 years.
