Russian gas company Gazprom said its net profit rose by 11 % in the first quarter of 2018, to almost 6 billion dollars, exceeding estimates due to higher gas prices and higher sales.
In Europe, Gazprom’s natural gas sales grew by 28 % in the first three months of the year, while prices rose by 17 %. The company wants to expand its presence on the European market this year, reaching a record level of exported natural gas of almost 200 billion cubic meters.
