Russian gas company Gazprom and Austrian OMV Group have extended the contract for the supply of Russian natural gas to Austria until 2040. The previous contract was supposed to expire in 2028.
The contract was signed by CEO’s of the two companies – Alexey Miller and Rainer Seele in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Federal Chancellor of Austria Sebastian Kurz as part of the celebrations marking 50 years of supplies of Russian gas to Austria, which was marked on 1 June.
