Last week, Romanian Minister of Finance Ionut Misa announced that excise taxes on fuel will increase in two stages, from 15 September and then from 1 October, to reach 0.03 euros per liter.
Minister Misa explained that the deadlines were set for 15 September and 1 October, on each of these deadlines excise to all three categories of fuel, leaded petrol, unleaded and diesel, will increase by 0.03 euros. He said the increase in excise duty on fuel would be taken in stages, in order to prevent a shock on consumption that could generate price increases.
