The Greek Parliament has ratified all four contracts for concessions for exploration and exploitation of oil and gas. The concessions are for offshore Block 2 in the Ionian Sea and onshore locations at Arta-Preveza, Etoloakarnania and Northwest Peloponnese.
A Total-led consortium with Italian Edison and Greek oil refiner Hellenic Petroleum (ELPE) was awarded Block 2 in the Ionian Sea, ELPE was also awarded the Arta-Preveza and northwestern Peloponnese onshore block, while Energean was awarded the Aitoloakarnania onshore block.
