The newly appointed management of Macedonian state-owned power utility ELEM denied reports that it plans to sell the company.
The statement from ELEM said that the management is working in order to make ELEM the pillar of energy and economic stability and independence in Macedonia, the exact opposite of direction in which the company has been led in the past 11 years. The majority of electricity generating capacities in Macedonia is owned by ELEM, including coal-fired thermal power plant Bitola, which is the main source of electricity in the country.
