According to the data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (Turkstat), the country’s electricity import bill in the first nine months of the year decreased by 61 % compared to the same period in 2016.
Turkey paid about 60.69 million dollars for imported electricity in the first nine months of 2017, compared to last year’s 155.8 million dollars. Electricity imports in the January-September 2017 period amounted to 1.21 billion kWh, compared to 3.24 billion kWh in the comparable period in 2016.
