According to the data from the Statistical Office of Republic of Slovenia, country’s electricity consumption in January 2017 increased by 8 % compared to the same month last year.
In January 2017, total net electricity generation in Slovenia reached 1,318 GWh, which is 4.5 % less than in the previous month. On the other hand, consumption reached 1,361 GWh, which is an increase of 9.5 % compared to December 2016. During January, production in thermal power plants increased by 4 %, production in hydropower plants decreased by 30 % and the production of nuclear power plant Krsko decreased by 1 %. In January 2017, Slovenia imported 773 GWh of electricity and exported 701 GWh.
