According to the data published by the National Institute for Statistics (INS), electricity consumption in Romania in the first half of 2017 amounted to 27.22 TWh, which is 1.5 % less compared to the same period in 2016.
The data show that industrial electricity consumption reached 20.99 TWh, which is 1.2 % lower compared to the same period in 2016. On the other hand, households electricity consumption amounted to 5.94 TWh, which is a 2.2 % decrease. Public lighting consumption dropped by 7.3 %, amounting to some 285.2 GWh.
