The Energy Community (EC) has reinstated sanctions against Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) as of 1 April because it failed to comply with the previous agreement and adopt the law on electricity and gas market at the state level.
These sanctions mean that BiH, as a member of the Energy Community, will not be able to vote at the EC meetings and travel expenses will not be paid for its representatives. But in October, the Energy Community Secretariat will consider the introduction of harsher sanctions, which include withholding funds earmarked for the country’s energy sector.
