Romanian natural gas transmission system operator Transgaz said that the national gas transmission network was operating closed to its critical state on Wednesday, 28 February as the pressure in the pipeline was much lower than the normal parameters due to high consumption.
The line pack indicator, which shows the volume of natural gas in all pressurized sections of the gas network, went down to as low as 33.24 million cubic meters on Wednesday at noon. If this indicator went down under 33 million cubic meters, the system would go into a critical state and Transgaz would have to take emergency measures to make sure the gas transport system continues to function.
