Electricity Distributor CEZ Bulgaria has called for the establishment of a fund for support to vulnerable customers through increasing penalties for electricity theft. The company called for an introduction of stricter sanctions, including financial penalties, while the proceeds should be collected in a special fund used for investments in the sector, support for vulnerable customers or other uses that the Government sees fit.
Regional Manager of CEZ Bulgaria Karel Kral said that the company is calling for the protection of interests of the society, state and investors, adding that effective results could only be achieved through stricter enforcement of sanctions against those who commit electricity theft.
